Szanowni Państwo
24 lutego Rosja Putina napadła na Ukrainę. Obecnie wojska rosyjskie próbują doszczętnie zniszczyć niepodległy kraj. Do Polski trafiło już ponad milion uchodźców, szacuje się, że może być to nawet 5 milionów ludzi. Wszyscy zdajemy sobie sprawę, że obecnie Ukraińcy nie walczą tylko o swoją wolność, ale także o pokój w Europie i całym Świecie.
Zaangażowaliśmy się w pomoc, udostępniliśmy domy, ale ten kryzys i wojna będą trwać. Dlatego ważne jest każde długofalowe wsparcie.
W tym celu zostało uruchomione konto, na które będziemy zbierali środki
dla uchodźców z Ukrainy. Na żywność, na opłacenie kosztów ich utrzymania,
na środki higieniczne, chemiczne, medyczne i opatrunkowe, leczenie.
Konto użyczyła Fundacja Lumen z Podkowy Leśnej, dysponentem środków będzie Burmistrz Miasta Podkowa Leśna. Pracujemy nad powołaniem społecznego Komitetu, który będzie akceptował wydatki z zebranych środków, tak aby zapewnić całkowitą transparentność wydatków, Raz w tygodniu zobowiązuję się do publikowania raportów wpływów i wydatków z konta.
Ze szczególnym apelem zwracam się do społeczności europejskich miast, korporacji międzynarodowych i biznesu, to my w Polsce przejmiemy większość ciężaru przybywających do nas uchodźców z regionu wojny, dlatego prosimy Was o wsparcie finansowe, tak abyśmy mogli w dłuższej perspektywie czasu zapewnić wszystkim ludziom uciekającym przed wojną minimum egzystencji, dach nad głową i ciepły posiłek.

Ladies and Gentlemen
On the 24th of February, Ukraine was invaded by Putin’s Russia. Russian forces are currently attempting to thoroughly ruin an independent country.
Over one million refugees have already made their way to Poland, while estimates show that the number may even be reaching 5 million people. We are all aware that the Ukrainians are not only fighting for their own freedom, but also for peace in Europe and the entire world.
We have committed ourselves to helping them, we have shared our households, but the crisis and the war will continue. This is why all long-term aid is important.
For this purpose, we have established a bank account to gather funds for Ukrainian refugees. For food, for covering the costs of their support, for hygiene, chemical, medical and first aid products, for treatment.
The account was provided by Fundacja Lumen (Lumen Foundation) from Podkowa Leśna, and the administrator of the funds will be the Mayor of Podkowa Leśna. We are working on appointing a Social Committee that will approve the expenses from the gathered funds
to ensure a total transparency of spending. I obligate myself to publish reports detailing the incomes and expenses from the account once a week.
I would also like to issue a special appeal to European communities, international corporations and businesses, as it is we in Poland who are accepting the most of the burden related to the inflow of refugees from the war-torn country, which is why we are asking you for financial support that would allow us to provide all the people fleeing the conflict with
the basic necessities, a roof over their heads and a warm meal in a long-term perspective.
